The photo is of the WYSIWYG coral on a large 2" frag disk. This Jawbreaker has fully developed colors including the sought after purple.

One of the holy grails for all reefers

This mushroom gets its name from the expression collectors had when they first saw it at the wholesalers—and the name fits perfectly.

Jawbreakers have been part of the hobby for a long time, yet demand still outstrips supply. They are prized for the wide range of colors that can develop: red, green, and even purple.

When a natural baby forms, it is typically all orange. Over time, other hues appear—red usually being the first to show. Specks of green may develop later and often indicate a fairly mature specimen. Purple spots are largely a matter of luck; some mushrooms never acquire that color. However, most Jawbreakers older than five years will display a mix of all colors.
