If you want a coral with a punch, this is the one for you. Beautiful swaying polyps with an iridescent red body adorned with blue tips. For so much beauty, it's also managable for most reefers looking to try out a first goniopora. This was one of the first gonioporas we've cultured, and it's been one of the most forgiving to care for.
Some reefers struggle with Goniopora sp., but we have had amazing success using coral foods such as Benepets. Give it a weekly feeding and you should be all set!
LC Metallic Red Goniopora
Strong intermediate level coral. Best tried after you've had success with a few other easier corals first. Special requirements include weekly feeding of food such as Benepets.
Slow. Increased growth with feeding such as Benepets.
Keep gonioporas near the sanbed if you want them to extend the longest.
Currently kept under Kessil A360X units. Mounting height 24" above water line. 12:00PM - 10:00PM at 100% blue intensity.
Prefers a moderate breeze, enough to make the tentacles sway. Avoid strong direct flow, as this may damage the tissue.
Currently kept with Maxspect Gyre 350s Pumps.
