What can we say, this is probably one of the hottest Ricordeas out in the hobby. This variant of Ricordea is most likely collected in deeper waters compared to other Ricordeas. We had a short conversation with Colin over at Coral Morphologic, and he mentioned that these deep water Ricordeas tend to grow massive overtime (over 6"!) and are much more bubbly compared to their more shallow and common counterparts. However, being deeper water they are a bit more finicky and sensitive to light.
We have had this specimen under Kessil A360x units all blue spectrum. It's kept at the edges of the frag tank, where light looks slightly shaded. We believe this is a well established specimen that will do best in a home aquarium that can offer it partial shade.
