Gorgeous Fuzzy Rhodactus Mushroom Coral, WYSIWYG
Photo is of a WYSIWYG coral. This mushroom coral is a sweet size, it completely covers up the plug! Definitely 1.5"-2" when fully puffed up.
Haven't come up with a trade name for this beautiful fuzzy Rhodactus, but it's got some sweet puffy "bubble" nodules across its body. The coloration of this Rhodactus is predominantly different hues of blue, mostly sky blue and ocean blue. The blue coloration has an irridescent sheen, and looks absolutely stunning under white colored spectrums. If you run your tank more blue, then fear not as the white puffy "bubble" nodules and orange accents look great under blue lights.
I've been aquaculturing this piece for many years now (5+ years) from when I first acquired a piece through a trade show as a wild piece. It's only produced natural offsprings a handful of times since then, but has proven to be incredibly hardy. I can recommend this mushroom coral to just about any reefing experience.
Best tried after you've had success with a few other easier corals first and have an understanding of basic reef chemistry such as keeping salinity, alkalinity, calicium, and magnesium levels consistent. The coral itself is very easy to care for if you test for your parameters often and have created a consistent maintanence routine for your reef!
Slow. Increased growth with feeding such as Benepets.
Prefers to be kept in lower light.
Currently kept under Kessil 360x, all blue spectrum.
Prefers low flow. Too strong of a flow may cause it to deattach.
Currently kept with Maxspect Gyre 350s Pumps.
